Oh my god… this one is funnier than the ‘spider’ one.
(I literally have tears rolling down my cheeks)
Would like to welcome Mr. Chris Keating to...

he’s not a ‘new’ Tumblr… but lets call him a born-again Tumblr.
(I’m counting it as 1 of my 10… 2 down, 8 to go)
Best Stock for 2009: Netflix →
Michacha forwarded me this post on MotleyFool.com.
I’d like to think it vindicates my earlier post…. but if the Fool it touting it, I’m more likely to think I’m screwed!

Petting Zoos

My favorite is definitely the petting zoo.
The Secrets of Marketing in a Web 2.0 World →
Novita forwarded me this article today. It had some interesting takes on marketing in a Web 2.0 world…but I think overall it regurgitated a lot of the same old cliches I read every time I open the cover of Business Week. I think the old chestnut of ‘engage users’ and ‘have a conversation’ is dead. The internet has killed advertising as we know it. There are now only 3 types of advertising:

LOOK AT ME GO
1 down. 9 to go.
wouldn’t it be great if I got my New Year’s resolution finished before the New Year.

So I am finally venturing into the world of blogging…. please be patient as I figure all this new stuff out. I’ll try to post as often as possible.

Didn’t know half of these. Great post.

Check them out, you might actually learn something new. I didn’t know you could force quit an app by holding the home screen button for more than six seconds.

Rand Rant
Every now and then, I go on a rant that would make Ayn Rand proud.
I have now learnt not to talk about bailouts in public anymore… i get so worked up, I start foaming from the side of my mouth and I can feel a mild stroke-like sensation forming on the right side of my head.
I do like listening to the congressional hearings though… every now and then our congressmen have some great...
Just back from a start-up demo pitch
Two start-ups impressed me the most:
www.gist.com
This one was like cheering for the Yankees. Super slick product, serving a specific need, executed by a smooth talking serial entrepreneur and backed by Vulcan.
www.blah-it.com
This one was like cheering for Boise State. A husband and wife team building a product targeted at Tweens… that none of the Big Tech guys in the room...
Joe vs. Cobra personality test
Scott gave me a very good idea to create a Joe vs. Cobra personality test.
Now I just need to think up the questions (suggestions in comments welcome!).
Joe vs. Cobra
Many years ago, when I first started working in the US, I got introduced to Joe vs. Cobra.
Not the action-toy (we already had this in Ireland), but as a way of categorizing your co-workers. Either Alex Bain or Winkle told me that you could classify everyone in the office as either a ‘Joe’ or ‘Cobra’.
6 years later…. and its still a big way of how I categorize the people I work with.

I've been screwing around with my blog settings......
I wanted to swap two blog around.
I think i have them re-directing correctly now…. but if you’re following me on a reader and this is the last post you get for a while, you might have to change your RSS feed to:

Sorry for being an idiot (…but basically I’m a neurotic freak who wanted to make sure all my links were the same)
New Years resolution
Tumblr has become my favorite site on the internet. It could easily distract me for a couple of hours a day.
I only wish that more of my friends used it…. both people who already blog, and people who’ve never blogged.
This year I’m gonna make 2 resolutions:
Get 10 more of my friends on Tumblr
Write a Tumblr post at least once a day (re-blogs don’t count)
Wake-up with regret..
you know those mornings when you wake up you wake up with regret…
Last Saturday I woke up remembering I had envoked ‘Zuckerberg’s Law’ when trying to convince someone of why they should start tumblring, tweeting, etc…
What was I thinking? As usual… i blame too much beer.
The financial situation at the moment is so bad that women are now marrying for...

Great post in the NYTimes about coffee obsession
http://niemann.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/02/coffee/?em
This was my favorite:
Here’s a chart that shows my coffee bias over the years.
For good measure I have added my bagel preferences over the same period. (1) Drip coffee, (2) Starbucks, (3) blueberry bagels, (4) sesame bagels, (5) poppy-seed bagels, (6) everything bagels
Please don’t hold my brief affair with blueberry bagels against me. I...

Every day I think about this book… these days, several times a day.
I like that they make fun of someone of the more long-winded parts of the book. Brevity was not Rand’s strong suit.

Galt went on like this for what seemed to Dagny like hours, until, finally, something he said piqued her interest
